The IW Council is working with local providers like Vectis HA on a governmentbased approach called Choice Based Lettings. In very broad terms instead of being selected from a housing register system which is entirely based on points earned through perceived housing need vacant properties will be advertised by housing associations predominantly via their websites and applicants will be able to bid for them. It will be up to the applicants to decide whether they want a particular property which is so advertised. This might depend on where it is located for example it will be their choice.
