Andy Hopwood Property Services Manager
On leaving school Andy worked for the maintenance section of a large textile consortium which owned many houses and factories in the North of England. He moved to The Isle of Wight in 1984 to work for South Wight Council and was in charge of the outside maintenance staff remaining there until the formation of South Wight Housing where he became Area Surveyor. In 1997, he left to take up the position of workshop Manager for a joinery company in Sandown and then in November of 1999, joined the Team at Vectis Housing as Maintenance Officer. In 2004, Andy became Senior Property Officer, with special responsibility for developing and overseeing major works contracts, such as the long term improvements programme. In April 2006, as part of staff changes within the Maintenance Section, Andy was promoted to the position of Property Services Manager, taking on the responsibility of all aspects of that section. Andy is married with three daughters, and his hobby is collecting James Bond memorabilia. We do not believe he is licensed to kill, however.
