Paul Hann Chief Executive
Born and bred on the Isle of Wight, Paul is an accountant by training. After 13 years in a local accountancy practice, he moved into industry, heading up the finance department of a growing client electronics company. When the company was acquired by a multi-national conglomerate, and much of the decision making process was consequently taken away, Paul looked for a new challenge and found it with Vectis Housing in 1990, where he was assistant to the then Managing Agent, becoming Chief Executive in 1996 when the organisation re-structured. His prime responsibility is to see that the Associations Business Strategy is effectively and efficiently delivered. Paul has followed very closely the development of the smaller housing association movement, watching for the pitfalls. He now works (he says) tirelessly towards finding solutions to the issues which will keep Vectis the right side of the Regulator for the long term. Married with three grown-up children, Paul is also a past club champion, Captain, and President, of Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club, although these days, apart from his family, his greatest love if not obsession is exploring the vast open landscape that is Dartmoor in South Devon, the one place where he feels the Tenant Services Authority and Audit Commission have yet to penetrate to any great effect. As can be deduced, Pauls real ambition to be a bus driver came to nothing.
