Lynda Purkis Housing Services Manager & Deputy Chief Executive
Lynda joined Vectis in June 2003 as Housing Services Manager, primarily responsible for the effective administration of the whole of the housing management service provided by the Association. Her housing career, started with Dacorum Borough Council in Hertfordshire in 1993. Dacorum has a large housing stock of approximately 15,000 homes, spread over an area nearly twice the size of the Island. In 1996 Lynda moved to the Island to work for South Wight Housing Association as a Housing Officer, and in 2000 volunteered to take on responsibility for rent recovery. She continued with this until deciding to test her potential to greater effect, by joining Vectis. Lynda became Deputy Chief Executive in 2008 following on from achieving corporate membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing. She assists the Chief Executive in many of the strategic aspects of what is now a very complex business. Lynda is married with two young daughters, a dog, two leopard geckos, two gerbils, a rabbit, several ducks, chickens, and other assorted members of the avian family. (See under 'Zoo' elsewhere.)
